This was written April 5, 2010. I just didn't post it until today :)
This past weekend was wonderful! Friday I went to take some shoes I bought back to the mall. I had bought a pair of running shoes, and then I found another pair I liked better so I had to bring the first pair back to the store. Anyway while I was at the mall I passed by New York and Company. I really like that store. I saw that they had everything in the store 50% off. Well, I was in desperate need of summer work clothes. I haven't bought any new work pants in about two years, and I didn't have hardly any short sleeved shirts. So I decided to go clothes shopping! For the first time in a long time I actually enjoyed trying on clothes. Anyway, I got out of the store with not paying over $15 for pants, and not over $10 for any of the shirts I bought. It was a pretty awesome start to my weekend.
Saturday I cleaned, worked out a lot, and then we headed to the Canes game. I ate too much at the Canes game, which is part of the reason I chose to work out so much before hand. The Canes lost. That was kind of depressing, but I came home and watched the Duke game. They definitely whooped West Virginia's ass! Woo hoo. Championship game tonight.
Sunday was a truly awesome day. Tyler and I went to his parents house for Easter lunch. We got our yearly Easter baskets. I love getting an Easter basket from my mother in law. My mom stopped giving us Easter baskets when my nieces were born. So I was a freshman in high school. Since there were grand kids now they got all the Easter stuff. I was completely fine with it. So when I started dating Tyler I hadn't received an Easter basket in about 5 or 6 years, but the first Easter we were together we went to his parents. They had a nice purple (my fav color) basket prepared for me. Tyler and I had been only dating for a little over 3 months at that point. His Mom handed me the basket and said, "Welcome to the Family". It meant a lot to me and to Tyler. Tyler was in shock, and said they had never done that before. That's when I first knew they accepted me and loved me ;p
So anyway, it's always fun and special for me to get a basket every year. I have a feeling that once Tyler and I have a kid we won't be getting any more baskets. lol, so I'll enjoy it while it lasts! After looking through our basket we ate a delicious lunch! Chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, scalloped potatoes, rolls, and more. Needless to say I ate way too much, especially once the angel food cake and pineapple cake were brought out. It was all over for me. I'm not dwelling on it though. I'll just get back on track this week. After we stuffed our faces the rents took the whole family to see Clash of the Titans. It was a really good movie. It was kind of funny to me though, because there were eight of us, and we took up the whole row in the theater. I'm trying to figure out what in the world they are going to do when there are grand kids in the mix, and the younger two sibs, Mallory and Jordan, get into a serious relationship and bring their significant others. Haha, I guess we'll have to take up two rows. We went back to the rents house after the movie and hung out. I helped Mal fill out job applications. She's sixteen and applying different places to try and get her first job this summer. It was a truly awesome day. I hated that it had to end, and hated even more that I had to return to work today.
Today has not been too bad. My allergies are KILLING me! I haven't had problems this bad since I was in high school. If I go outside for even just a few minutes I end up wheezing. The allergies aggravate my asthma. There is so much pollen outside. Here in NC we get a lot of pollen every spring, but I don't ever remember seeing it this bad. It seriously looks like yellow snow. The whole parking lot at work is covered in yellow. My car is no longer silver. It's yellow. I walked in from my car to work, which is like 15 feet, and my black shoes are covered in yellow. It's so gross. Plus the high is 91 today. It's never that hot in April. I'm definitely not a fan!
Tonight we're going to Outback to celebrate my brother's birthday. I'm excited to spend some time with my fam. It'll be my mom, dad, aunt, brother, and hubby : ) I just have to remember to be good!
This weekend is Tyler and my one year anniversary. It's Sunday to be exact. I'm so excited. I gotta finish working on his present this week. I already know part of what he's getting me, because he wanted me to pick it out. It's an emerald ring and necklace. Our puppy's birthday is Saturday, but she'll be staying with my in laws. I can't believe it's been a year since we were married or since she was born. I guess time flies when you're having fun! I hope everyone had a great Easter and has a great week!
