Last night my wonderful husband surprised me with book five and six in the House of Night Series. I have just recently started reading this series. I have become addicted to these books! In fact, I am half way through the fifth book, and I just started reading the series last Wednesday. So that’s five books in a week. They are very easy reads, but still that’s a little ridiculous. The books remind me of a cross between Twilight and Harry Potter. So for dorks like me, that’s awesome J If you like those kind of books, then I really do recommend you read this series. My only problem is they have only released through book six. Book seven is scheduled to be released in April. I usually make it a point to never start reading a book series until all of the books have been released, but when I saw “Marked” in Target I did not realize that all the books hadn’t been released yet. I read the back of the book and thought it looked interesting so I bought it. It sat on my bookshelf for over six months before I even picked it up, but once I did finally get to reading it, it was all over for me. I am hooked. I don’t know, maybe waiting for the next books to come out will teach me some patience. Lord knows, I could use some more patience.
We did our taxes a few days ago. We are getting much more back than I expected, which was a very pleasant surprise. I think we’ll use part of the money to finally buy a new mattress and bedroom suite. I’m very excited about that.
Brindy has gotten HUGE! Lol, when we weighed her a few weeks ago she was a whooping 68 pounds, and I would bet that she’s gained some weight since then. I tell her she’s fat all the time. She’s not really. She has just finally started filling out in the last few months. I’m use to her being super skinny, but it seems she is finally becoming a full grown adult lab. It’s too bad she doesn’t act like she’s full grown. She’s just as rotten as ever. She’s got just as much energy as always, but it takes a lot more to wear her out. I take her on runs with me, and Tyler and her play fetch in the backyard a lot. If we miss a day or two she turns into a terror, and runs around the house like a crazy thing. So she definitely keeps us on our toes. I’ll be glad when she’s two years old and begins to calm down. Only a year and two months :)
My oldest niece turned nine this month. It really doesn’t seem like she should be that old, but she is. She’ll be a teenager before I know it, and that will be really weird.
That’s pretty much all that’s going on with us these days. I realized I haven’t posted anything since Thanksgiving. Talk about being slack. I’m going to try to update my blog more regularly from now on.
