Only five and a half more weeks!

Sorry I haven't updated my blog in so long. I've been staying very busy. The system is down at work today so I figured it would be a good time to update everybody.

I only have five and a half more weeks until my due date. There are moments that I say to myself, "ugh I still have five and a half more weeks. How can this be? I feel like I've been pregnant FOREVER! I hope she gets here early." Then there are moment's when I say, "Crap I only have five and a half more weeks and I still have a million more things to get done before she gets here. How am I going to get it all done?" I'm scared, nervous, and overwhelmed one moment. Then the next I'm so happy and excited to meet our baby girl that I can hardly stand the wait!

My last ultrasound was at 32 weeks. At that time baby girl was weighing in at 4 pounds 5 ounces! The doctor said she was in the 52nd percentile, so right on track. If she keeps gaining at a normal rate and doesn't come until her due date, she'll be between 7.5 and 8 pounds. She was head down and in perfect position. Her belly was full, which means she's swallowing great. Her bladder is full which they said means her kidneys are functioning perfectly. I made them check her gender again, just in case. lol, She's definitely still a girl! She was moving pretty much non stop. They kept commenting on how much she was moving. She moves a lot normally, but she has certain times of the day that she is more active than others. One of her active times is around 1 in the afternoon, and my appointment was at 1 that day. I think that's why she was exceptionally active for the ultrasound. Her hands were covering her face. She was making little fists. We were able to get a few decent pictures of her face and profile. They just weren't as good as the last time.

I passed my gestational diabetes test just fine. I'm thankful for that. I really didn't want to have to go in for the three hour test. My iron levels were good as well. I've been getting a lot of braxton hicks contractions lately. I don't enjoy them at all. Hopefully it just means my body will be more prepared when it's time for the real thing! We finished our child birthing classes about two weeks ago. It was good to get all that extra information and learn coping techniques, but to be honest labor and delivery still scares me some. I know women have been doing this forever so I can definitely handle it. It's just the closer it gets to the big day, the more it scares me. I know I'll be fine once the time comes. I have a wonderful husband to support me, and my body was made to handle this :-)

My baby shower is this weekend. I'm very excited about it. After that we can finish shopping and get everything the baby needs. We can also finally finish the nursery! We already have the outfit picked out that we plan on bringing her home in, as well as, an extra one just in case. We also found someone to take care of baby girl once I return to work in late November/ early December. I was really concerned about that one, but things have come together perfectly. I have another doctors appointment today. I feel like it's been two months since my last one, but it's only been two weeks. The bigger I get the slower time seems to pass by. Everything is coming together, and this precious baby girl will be here before I know it. I can't wait to see her beautiful face and hold her in my arms!
